SACRAMENTO - In this Caltrans News Flash, you'll see how employees plan to use the bicycles and the excitement surrounding the added choice of going green. As part of moving toward a fully-integrated transportation system, Caltrans is committed to increasing the number of bicyclists and intends to use the BikeShare Program as a template for other BikeShare Programs throughout California.
Caltrans continues to reduce its carbon footprint through the launch of its employee BikeShare Program, which makes on-site bicycles available for staff as a transit option. The bikes were procured from Practical Cycle in Sacramento, funded through a grant from Kaiser Permanente and will be used for traveling to meetings where a vehicle might otherwise be used.
